Purpose of the position

b.What will happen if there is no one in the position (no one performs the work)?
a. This position is responsible for; analysing and executing Engineering Outsourcing Requirements including Estimation of outsourcing Costs, Negotiation with engineering partners, Full Service suppliers and consultants
a) Responsible for analysing and executing Engineering Outsourcing Requirements including Estimation of outsourcing Costs, Negotiation with engineering partners, Full Service suppliers and consultants
Responsible for Execute engineering services outsourcing of design, development, validation and testing activities of various departments of ERC, to support existing and new Tata Motors vehicle platforms
b) Development Role: Participate in all commercial and techno-commercial discussions with engineering service providers. Conduct cost negotiation with vendors and finalize vendor with appropriate justification   
 Drafting of contracts and liasoning with various other commercial departments within company. Liaise with legal counsel to discuss terms and conditions of engagements, covering important clauses such as - Intellectual Property, Confidentiality, Warranty, Taxation, Payment, Timing, Dispute Resolution and other terms and conditions
Oversee post-contract commercial activities such as project progress, payments, cash management, etc.-Involve in new vendor identification, vendor assessment and managing relationship with existing vendors
Monitor / tracking of project requirements in close coordination with various Project teams / Chief Engineers/ User departments  and taking appropriate action on closure of the Contract / PO processing

Relevant Experience :
Minimum experience requirement: Graduate / Postgraduate in engineering (any discipline but preferred - mechanical / automobile / thermal / electrical /electronics)

Commercial - Knowledge of supplier relationship management in R&D. Familiarity with operating various models of outsourcing. Understanding of Commercial & Cost Assessment knowledge, Transfer Pricing and Taxation regulations
Product - Knowledge about Automobile Industry, supply chain, competitors, products, Services Industry related to Automobile product development, testing and validation. Understanding of automotive systems, aggregates, components. Understanding of automotive product development process.
Finance - Negotiation Skills, methods of costing, basics of financial statements
