Purpose of the Role
TVM Engineer is responsible for analysing perceived value through value laddering, total cost of ownership (TCO) and resale value of TML products by comparing them with competition products and drive improvements in existing and new products of TML
Job Responsibility
1. Enhance perceived value of TML products and improve cost – value equation
Identify feature, content, specifications that customer values
Conduct consumer studies – Cojoint, Maxdiff, Analytical Kano modelling, feature trends, customisation, accessory price and consumption trends, advanced market feature studies etc.
Develop rationale for customer perceived value and validate it with marketing / product line planning
Study competition products, gather competition feature, specification and pricing data and develop value ladder
Generate and syndicate proposals to improve feature / content / specification, competitive
value, cost-value equation, varianting, feature rationalisation, feature futuring etc
Review the perceived value, pricing periodically and update value ladders
2. Drive TCO and resale improvements
Identify TCO drivers and estimate TCO for TML and competition products
Generate and syndicate opportunities to improve the TCO of TML existing and future products
Study the resale value depreciation, JDP vehicle dependability score, resale channel feedback of TML products vis-à-vis competition products and identify opportunities for improvement
Classify the opportunities into product / field actions and syndicate them with concern stakeholders
3. Ensure/ deliver design to cost and source to cost targets achievements for the component targets of programs.
Pursue component cost targets with engineering to achieve the design to cost targets for new programs
Perform cost driver analysis, design cost analysis on components to achieve design to cost targets.
Perform Supplier Quotation analysis with respect to should cost model and develop supplier negotiation fact pack for components
Perform Linear price performance models and generate opportunities to improve cost performance
Generate, provide valuation and syndicate cost reduction ideas based on should cost driver analysis in cost reduction workshops to achieve component subsystem cost reduction targets.
Benchmarking , competition should costing , best of Best cost driver analysis and its application into various projects to drive cost efficiencies
Perform data analysis and execute analytics based levers for idea generation (LPP, Weight Tree Cost Tree, Function Cost etc )
Prepare component/subsystem specific supplier negotiation fact pack and support purchase CTL in achievement of should cost with supplier
4. Develop component/subsystem knowledge repository covering competition, technology, products, processes etc and apply it in developing cost models
Prepare and syndicate cost models for new technology , supplier proprietary parts
Prepare scenarios on impact of choice of future technology on cost structure investment, supplier selection etc
Improve accuracy of should cost models
Prepare parametric cost models for part types to increase the coverage of parameterization
Perform TGR and TGW of design to cost and sourcing to cost targets
Being part of business case evaluation and build central repository of cost saving ideas and apply across the portfolio
5. Annual cost reduction target for the sub systems / modules
Prepare execute idea generation and syndication plan
Achieve E+ ( syndicated) as per the target glide path for various modules in targeted VCs

Desired Candidate Profile
Education Graduation in Engineering (MBA Preferred)
Relevant Experience :
2 to 5 years of experience in the domain of marketing / sales, product planning
Experience in conducting consumer studies, mystery shopping, competitive intelligence etc
Good Knowledge of latest feature and technology trends
In depth knowledge of TML and competition products
Understanding of JDP / IPSOS surveys
Skills & Competencies
Consumer need-gap analysis – surveys, interviews, conjoint, Maxdiff, Kano modelling etc
Competitive intelligence in the areas of product attribute, feature benchmarking, feature - value analysis, cost of ownership, serviceability, maintainability and resale value
Data management and analytics on perceived value, pricing, feature and technology trends, JDP reports, Indian resale blue book
